A man was arrested after he was caught stealing a chocolate bar inside a mall along Recto Avenue in Quiapo, Manila.

According to RH Boy Gonzales' report on "Dos Por Dos", the Manila Police District–Sta. Cruz Police Station identified the suspect as an unemployed resident of San Andres Street, Malate, Manila.

In a police report, at around 11:07 a.m., a security guard caught Del Rosario attempting to secretly take a Milk chocolate worth ₱80 from one of the stores inside the mall.

When asked to present a receipt or any proof of payment, he failed to do so, prompting the guard to detain him immediately. The security personnel turned over the suspect to responding police officers for proper investigation.

The suspect was then brought to a nearby hospital for a mandatory medico-legal examination before being placed under the custody of the MPD Sta. Cruz Police Station.

Authorities are now preparing to file a case of theft under Article 308 of the revised penal code against the suspect for inquest proceedings before the Manila City Prosecutor’s Office.
