Malacañang said it is open to any move that could help uncover the truth behind the alleged anomalies in flood control projects, following reports that former congressman Zaldy Co may seek to communicate with authorities.
According to Palace Press Officer Claire Castro, the government welcomes efforts that would lead to accountability, particularly in cases involving alleged irregularities in public infrastructure projects. She noted that any plan by Co to reach out to the Office of the Ombudsman would be up to the latter to decide, including whether discussions would proceed and under what rules.
Castro stressed that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s priority is to ensure that the full truth is revealed and that those involved in any wrongdoing are held accountable.
The Palace, however, clarified that it has not received any information indicating that Co intends to directly speak with the President regarding the issue.
