The Makati City Government will strictly prohibit the operation of drones and similar unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) across the city throughout November 2026 as part of security measures for the upcoming 49th ASEAN Summit.
In a public advisory, the city government said the restriction covers all recreational, commercial, and media-related drone operations across all barangays and public spaces.
Makati is set to host high-level meetings and activities for ASEAN 2026, welcoming foreign heads of state, dignitaries, and international delegates.
The city government said the ban aims to ensure the safety and security of summit participants and the public, as well as maintain smooth communications during the international event.
Authorities are urging drone owners, hobbyists, and residents to cooperate and observe the restriction throughout the month.
