A magnitude 6.7 earthquake jolted Bogo City in Cebu on Tuesday night, September 30.

According to PHIVOLCS, the quake, with a depth of 10 kilometers, struck at 9:59 PM and was of tectonic origin.

Reported Intensities:

• Intensity III – San Fernando, Cebu

• Intensity II – Laoang, Northern Samar

Instrumental Intensities:

• Intensity VI – Cebu City, Cebu; Villaba, Leyte

“Ang pinakamataas na intensity na nai-report sa atin so far is intensity III sa San Fernando, although sa instrumental intensity natin ay mataas na, nasa intensity VI sa Cebu City at sa Villaba, Leyte,” said Dr. Teresito Bacolcol of PHIVOLCS in an interview with DZRH.

Bacolcol added that damage and aftershocks are expected.
