A magnitude 5.8 earthquake struck near Bogo City, Cebu at 1:06 a.m., according to a report from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).

The agency initially reported the tremor as magnitude 6.0, but later revised it to 5.8 after further analysis.

The tremor was felt strongest at Intensity V in Villaba, Leyte, while Intensity IV shaking was reported in several areas including Danao, Asturias, Argao City, Talisay, Cebu City, Isabel, Leyte, Hilongos, Ormoc City, Abuyog, and Hinunangan, Southern Leyte.

PHIVOLCS warned that aftershocks and possible damage are expected following the quake.

As of this time, no casualties have been reported.
