

A magnitude 5.7 earthquake jolted Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat, on Wednesday, January 28.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), the quake rattled the coastal waters of the area around 2:47 PM. It had a depth of focus of 010 km and is tectonic in origin.
Meanwhile, the following intensities were recorded:
Intensity V
Lebak, SULTAN KUDARAT
Intensity IV
Palimbang, SULTAN KUDARAT
No damages are expected from the earthquake; however, the PHIVOLCS reminded that aftershocks are possible.
This comes after a magnitude 5.1 earthquake also hit in the same area at 2:31 PM.
At 3:00 PM, the PHIVOLCS announced that another earthquake hit Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat, with a magnitude of 2.0.
In its latest update, a magnitude 2.3 earthquake was recorded in the same area at 3:17 PM.
