

A magnitude 5.4 earthquake jolted Sarangani, Davao Occidental, at 11:33 a.m. on Saturday, March 28.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported that the earthquake was tectonic in origin, with a depth of 212 kilometers.
Meanwhile, the following intensities were recorded:
Intensity III
M’lang, Cotabato, Maasim and Malungon in Sarangani
Intensity II
Tupi, South Cotabato
Intensity I
Digos City, Davao del Sur; Jose Abad Santos in Davao Occidental; Kiamba in Sarangani; and T’Boli in South Cotabato.
Authorities said no damage is expected from the earthquake, but PHIVOLCS warned that aftershocks may occur.
In a subsequent update, PHIVOLCS reported that another earthquake with a magnitude of 4.9 was recorded in the same area at 11:33 a.m.
