A magnitude 5.3 earthquake struck off the coast of Tarragona, Davao Oriental, on Saturday, August 22, 2026, according to Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

Phivolcs said the earthquake occurred at 2:43 p.m. at a depth of 83 kilometers.

The earthquake was located at approximately 84 kilometers southeast of Tarragona.

Phivolcs said no damage was reported following the earthquake.
