A magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck the waters off Bolinao, Pangasinan on Monday morning, June 29, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
In its earthquake bulletin, Phivolcs said the tremor occurred at 3:09 a.m.
State seismologists reported that the earthquake's epicenter was located approximately 89 kilometers northwest of Bolinao.
The quake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 15 kilometers.

The agency said no damage is expected from the earthquake.
However, residents may experience aftershocks following the seismic event.
