A magnitude 4.3 earthquake jolted Iloilo and Guimaras early on Wednesday, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).

The tectonic quake struck the waters 7 kilometers south 30° east of Guimbal, Iloilo at 9:21 a.m., with the epicenter at a depth of only 4 kilometers.

Logged instrumental intensities are as follows:

• Intensity III - Jordan, Guimaras

• Intensity II - City of Iloilo, Iloilo; Buenavista, Guimaras

• Intensity I - San Lorenzo, Guimaras

According to seismologists, the quake is not expected to cause damage or be followed by significant aftershocks.
