A magnitude 4.2 earthquake struck Balut Island in Davao Occidental at around 7:14 a.m. on Sunday, October 4, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).

PHIVOLCS said the earthquake occurred at a depth of 600 kilometers.

No intensities were recorded from the earthquake.

Meanwhile, there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries from the deep earthquake.
