In an episode of Experts Opinion on DZRH TV, the growing issue of climate change and possible solutions to combat it were discussed.

Climate advocate and communication specialist of the Oscar M. Lopez Center, Mae Mangubos, explained climate change as a long-term shift in weather patterns. According to her, “Ang climate change ay ang phenomenon kung saan nagbabago ang panahon sa isang lugar… over the years,” mainly caused by human activities such as burning fossil fuels.

The report also highlighted its impacts in the Philippines, including stronger typhoons and rising sea levels. She noted, “Nagbabago ang temperatura dito sa ating mundo” due to the increasing concentration of greenhouse gases that trap heat in the atmosphere.

It also showed how climate change affects various sectors such as agriculture, water supply, and food systems. The interview described it as a domino effect, where one affected sector impacts others, including food supply and livelihoods.

In the end, the public—especially the youth—was encouraged to participate in solutions such as tree planting and sustainable practices. The interview emphasized, “Ang climate change o pagbabago ng klima ay totoo… nararanasan po natin siya sa pang-araw-araw,” highlighting the need for collective action from communities.
