A magnitude 4.7 earthquake struck near Maconacon, Isabela early Wednesday morning, Sept. 30, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).

The tectonic earthquake was recorded at 4:45 a.m. at a depth of 10 kilometers.

PHIVOLCS located the quake at 17.73°N, 122.34°E, or about 39 kilometers north-northeast of Maconacon.

Instrumental intensities were recorded at Intensity III in Peñablanca, Cagayan, and Intensity I in Tabuk, Kalinga, and Ilagan, Isabela.

PHIVOLCS said no damage is expected from the earthquake and no aftershocks are expected.
