Drag artist M1ss Jade So will be taking an indefinite hiatus from all drag performances and public appearances following a recent TikTok livestream that raised concern among fans after she appeared visibly distressed and repeatedly broke down in tears.
Clips from the livestream quickly spread across social media, prompting an outpouring of support from the drag community and her supporters.
In an official statement, the Alfio Family and Haus of M1ss Jade So assured the public that the Drag Race Philippines Season 2 contestant is safe and currently receiving care from her loved ones.
“We would also like to reassure everyone that Jade is safe and is currently surrounded by loved ones while receiving the care and support she needs to focus on healing and recovery,” the statement read.
Her team also clarified that Jade does not blame anyone for the emotional crisis she experienced during the livestream.
“Jade also wishes to make one thing clear: she does not hold anyone accountable for her emotional distress or the personal crisis she experienced. During her livestream, Jade was in an extremely vulnerable and overwhelmed state, crying out for help. Her words should not be understood as assigning blame or responsibility to anyone,” the statement added.
The camp urged the public to stop directing hate, harassment, or threats toward fellow drag queens Marina Summers, Eva Le Queen, or anyone else mentioned in connection with the incident, emphasizing that Jade's struggles are “deeply personal and far more complex than any one person or any single event.”
They also appealed to social media users to stop sharing videos, screenshots, or recordings from the livestream, calling it “a meaningful act of compassion and respect” as Jade focuses on her recovery.
“To prioritize her recovery and well-being, Jade will be taking an indefinite hiatus from all drag performances and public appearances. Accordingly, all scheduled shows, bookings, and engagements are canceled until further notice,” the statement said.
The team apologized to event organizers, collaborators, fellow performers, and supporters affected by the cancellations and requested continued privacy, patience, and understanding as Jade recovers.
M1ss Jade So rose to prominence after competing in Drag Race Philippines Season 2 and is also set to represent the Philippines in the inaugural season of Drag Race Down Under vs. the World, which premieres on July 24. The team said there will be no further statements as Jade and her loved ones focus on her healing.
