The Philippines added another international pageant victory to its growing list of achievements after Lyndzy Blyss Plata Maranan was crowned Miss Global Universe 2026 during the coronation night held on Saturday, July 11, in Singapore. Maranan's victory marked the country's first-ever win in the Miss Global Universe pageant.
Maranan succeeded Quinty Verhoeve of the Netherlands as the new titleholder. Joining her in the Top 5 were Vanessa Hoong of Singapore as first runner-up, Selina Wang of Hong Kong as second runner-up, Luna De Geyter of Belgium as third runner-up, and MJ Kimpton of New Zealand as fourth runner-up.
Before representing the Philippines on the international stage, Maranan earned recognition as a Mutya ng Pilipinas Luzon titleholder, a milestone that paved the way for her pageant career and eventual international success. She also became the first Filipina delegate to capture the Miss Global Universe crown.
Maranan's victory further strengthens the Philippines' reputation as one of the world's leading pageant nations, adding another international title to the country's growing list of beauty queens. As Miss Global Universe 2026, she is expected to represent the organization through various advocacy initiatives and international engagements during her reign.
