The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has ordered a 90-day preventive suspension of the license of a driver caught in a viral video allowing a child to sit on his lap and steer a moving vehicle in Bulacan City.
In a Facebook post on Monday, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) shared that the LTO issued a show-cause order to the driver, directed the driver to appear before the LTO Office in Quezon City on October 15, 2025, to explain his actions and why he "should not be administratively charged for reckless driving."
The LTO cited the driver for possible violations, including reckless driving, failure to wear or use a seatbelt, and allowing a child to sit in the front seat of a moving vehicle.
“Both the child and the driver were not wearing a prescribed seatbelt device,” the order stated.
The agency emphasized that the vehicle and driver are under “preventive suspension” for 90 days due to the “severity of the violations committed.”
"Failure on your part to attend and/or no comment filed on that day shall be construed as a waiver of your right to be heard in this investigation," LTO stressed.
