The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has summoned the owner and driver of a white Toyota Hilux involved in an incident where a man pushing a cart with his young daughter was struck and assaulted.

LTO Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao emphasized that the agency will not tolerate such behavior on public roads.

"Hindi kukunsintihin ng ahensya ang ganitong asal sa lansangan. Kung totoo man ang mga paratang ayon video, dapat managot ang driver. Tinitiyak natin sa publiko na bibigyan natin ng hustisya ang insidenteng ito," Lacanilao said in an online statement.

Aside from a 90-day license suspension, the driver and registered vehicle owner are required to submit explanations to the LTO. The agency’s Intelligence and Investigation Division (IID) is already reviewing video footage showing the driver’s aggressive actions.

In a show-cause order issued by the LTO, the driver is asked to provide justification as to why their license should not be revoked for being deemed an improper person to operate a motor vehicle.
