The Land Transportation Office (LTO) announced on Tuesday, July 28, that it will permanently revoke the driver’s license of an SUV driver who was initially issued a show cause order (SCO) in connection with a fatal hit-and-run incident along Ortigas Avenue, Mandaluyong City.
The move follows the hearing conducted by the Intelligence and Investigation Division (IID), wherein the driver’s culpability was established.
The driver was found guilty of Reckless Driving and declared an Improper Person to Operate a Motor Vehicle—prompting the agency to permanently cancel his driver’s license.
The vehicle had a House of Representatives sticker covering its conduction sticker, and a newspaper was concealing its plate number during the incident.
The LTO added that the vehicle is under alarm status, in line with the resolution it released.
According to reports, a woman passenger riding a motorcycle was killed after the SUV rammed into them and fled the scene on July 11.
