The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has issued a show cause order against the so-called “BGC Boys” following reports that they have been using fake driver’s licenses.
The group, formally known as the Bulacan Group of Contractors, is composed of dismissed DPWH Bulacan District Engineer Henry Alcantara, OIC District Engineer Brice Ericson Hernandez, Assistant District Engineer Jaypee Mendoza, Arjay Domasig—who introduced himself as a contractor from Syms Trading Corporation—and contractor Edrick San Diego.
“Sa September 12 ‘yung hearing natin on this... pina-show cause natin ‘yung BGC Boys,” said LTO chief Atty. Vigor Mendoza II in a press conference on Wednesday.
Mendoza added that they are preparing to file charges such as falsification and use of falsified documents, among others.
Aside from the charges, the LTO will also conduct an investigation to determine the source of the fake licenses.
“More important, we would like to know the root—saan galing ‘to. Baka naman galing rin dito ‘yan or someone else,” he said.
“We would like to trace pa, we would like to investigate even deeper para kung may new source of fake documents, gusto naming makita pa ‘yan,” he added.
The “BGC Boys” were earlier exposed by Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson in his privilege speech, where he revealed their staggering ₱950 million gambling losses in the midst of the controversial anomalous flood control projects in Bulacan.
