The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has issued a Show Cause Order (SCO) against the registered owner and driver of an SUV after a viral video showed a TV host allegedly driving without a seatbelt while recording a singing video on the road.
The video also showed the driver getting out of the vehicle while it was on the road, leaving its door open before getting back inside.
The LTO ordered the registered owner and driver to appear before its Intelligence and Investigation Division on September 29, 2026, and submit a sworn statement explaining why the driver should not face possible violations for failure to wear the prescribed seatbelt and reckless driving.
The driver’s license was also placed under a 90-day preventive suspension while the investigation is ongoing. The license and vehicle were placed on alarm status.
“Walang masama sa pag-content at pagsasaya sa loob ng sasakyan, pero hindi kailanman dapat isantabi ang kaligtasan para dito,” LTO Assistant Secretary Markus V. Lacanilao said.
“Kapag may paglabag, maaasahan ang LTO na kikilos nang walang pinipili at walang pinapalampas,” he added.
