The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has issued a Show Cause Order against the registered owner and driver of a Toyota Fortuner involved in multiple traffic violations, including counterflowing and the use of unauthorized blinkers.
Initial findings revealed that the vehicle disregarded traffic rules, posing risks to motorists and the public. Authorities are also investigating reports that the SUV was accompanied by a motorcycle bearing a Philippine National Police (PNP) logo, raising concerns over a possible unauthorized escort.
The LTO has ordered those involved to appear before its Intelligence and Investigation Division and submit a sworn explanation. Failure to comply may result in the case being decided based on available evidence.
LTO Chief Markus V. Lacanilao emphasized that the agency will strictly enforce the law, warning that violations such as counterflowing and illegal use of blinkers carry penalties including license suspension or revocation.
The agency reiterated its commitment to road safety and urged the public to report similar incidents.
