The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has imposed a perpetual revocation or lifetime ban on the driver’s license of the SUV driver involved in the death of a four-year-old child in Pasig City.

The decision came after the LTO conducted a hearing involving the driver and registered owner of the SUV, which struck the child while the victim was crossing F. Victorino Street near the Arch Bambang in Pasig City.

Based on the hearing and information gathered by the agency, the driver was found to have committed violations of reckless driving and was declared an “improper person to operate a motor vehicle.”

As a result, the LTO imposed the perpetual revocation of the driver's license, effectively barring the driver from obtaining a license for life.

The LTO earlier issued a Show Cause Order against the registered owner and designated driver of the SUV following the September 10 incident, in which the four-year-old child was struck while crossing the road.

The child was brought to Prime Hospital for medical attention but was declared dead on arrival.

The driver’s license was initially placed under a 90-day preventive suspension while the LTO conducted its proceedings. The SUV was also placed under alarm status.

The LTO said the vehicle remains under alarm as part of the implementation of the appropriate action against those involved in the incident.
