The Land Transportation Office (LTO) is now also looking into the luxury vehicles owned by other government contractors.
According to LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Markus Lacalinao, the agency has launched an investigation into expensive vehicles owned by the Top 15 contractors named by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., besides the controversial Discayas.
These include Legacy Construction Corporation, Alpha & Omega Gen. Contractor & Development Corp., St. Timothy Construction Corporation, QM Builders, EGB Construction Corporation—five contractors at the top of the list. Collectively, all 15 contractors concerned 20 percent of the government’s flood control projects in recent years, amounting to ₱545 billion.
The LTO is currently working closely with the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI). The agency wants to determine whether the vehicles were properly acquired and duly registered.
Earlier, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) put seven of Cezarah “Sarah” and Pacifico “Curlee” Discaya’s luxury vehicles up for public auction.
