The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has extended the application period for the regularization of ride-hailing service partners operating under the so-called “tempo” status by another 30 days.
In a press release dated November 6, Acting LTFRB Chairman Greg G. Pua Jr. said the extension follows the directive of Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Vince Dizon to ensure that no transport network vehicle service (TNVS) partner is left behind.
The online application, which started on October 8, was initially scheduled to run for 30 working days.
The LTFRB aims to regularize thousands of TNVS units onboarded by transport network companies (TNCs) without securing the required authority from the agency, a practice known as “tempo.”
Pua said the initiative seeks to protect drivers who relied in good faith on the onboarding process and made substantial financial commitments.
Based on the latest LTFRB data, the agency has received 13,216 applications, of which 5,091 have already been issued provisional authorities (PAs).
The agency is fast-tracking the processing of applications and urged applicants to submit complete and properly uploaded documents to avoid delays or cancellations.
Pua also encouraged applicants experiencing difficulties with the online process to visit the LTFRB and seek assistance.
