The Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) has resumed full-line operations Wednesday morning, September 23, after a catenary wire at the Antipolo Station was damaged by lightning Tuesday afternoon.
The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) said the repair of the damaged catenary wire was completed Tuesday night.
However, the agency said the repair was completed after the last train trip for the day, prompting it to apologize to passengers who were affected by the temporary disruption.
LRTA Administrator Hernando Cabrera thanked the agency's engineering and maintenance personnel for their prompt response in repairing the damaged infrastructure, as well as passengers for their understanding.
Full-line operations resumed Wednesday, with the first trips from both Antipolo and Recto stations at 5 a.m.
The LRT-2 had earlier implemented provisional service between Recto and Santolan stations while repair work was ongoing.
