Operations of the Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) have returned to normal on Monday, August 10 after a fallen tree branch disrupted service the previous night, the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) said.

In an advisory, LRMC said all stations are now fully operational and trains are running on regular operating hours as of Aug. 10.

The disruption on Sunday evening was caused by a tree branch that fell near Bambang Station, affecting the overhead catenary line, which supplies power to trains.

Following the incident, LRT-1 implemented limited operations starting around 8:30 p.m., with trains running only between Dr. Santos Station and Central Terminal, and from Yamaha Monumento Station to Fernando Poe Jr. Station.

LRMC said its engineering team immediately conducted clearing and restoration works at the site.

Technical teams also carried out thorough inspections of the overhead catenary system, stations and tracks to ensure the safety and reliability of operations before resuming full service.

No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
