The low pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) is unlikely to develop into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours, the PAGASA said.

As of 2:00 PM on Monday, January 5, the LPA was located at 630 km south southwest of Pag-asa Island in Kalayaan, Palawan.

As of 2:30 PM, the PAGASA said that light to moderate rains are expected over Batangas (Batangas City, Lobo, Taysan, Rosario, San Juan, Ibaan, Padre Garcia, Lipa, San Jose, Santo Tomas) and Laguna(Alaminos, Nagcarlan, Rizal, San Pablo, Liliw, Magdalena, Majayjay, Cavinti, Luisiana, Pagsanjan, Lumban, Kalayaan, Paete, Pangil, Siniloan, Famy, Pakil).

Meanwhile, the said weather condition is currently experienced in Quezon(Tagkawayan, Guinayangan, Calauag, Quezon, Alabat, Perez, Agdangan, Padre Burgos, Plaridel, Atimonan, Pagbilao, Mauban, Tayabas, Lucena, Gumaca, Lopez, Unisan) and may affect nearby areas.
