The low pressure area (LPA) being monitored within the monitoring domain (TCID) of PAGASA has developed into a tropical depression.

As of 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 8, the state weather bureau said the tropical depression was located at 3,010 km east of Northeastern Mindanao. It has maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h and gustiness of 70 km/h.

It is currently moving west northwestward at 15 km/h.

The PAGASA said in an 8:00 AM update that the LPA monitored within the TCID has a “high” chance of developing into a tropical depression.
