A low-pressure area (LPA) is being monitored by PAGASA on Tuesday, January 13, and has a medium chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.
"As of 8:00 a.m. today, 13 January 2026, Low Pressure Area (LPA 01b) is being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and has a medium chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours," said the state weather bureau.
The LPA is located 1,100 km east-southeast of Mindanao as of 8:00 a.m. If it develops into a tropical depression, it will be named "Ada".
According to PAGASA's daily forecast, the shearline affects the eastern section of Northern Luzon, while the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) brings weather disturbances to the rest of Northern Luzon. The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) continues to influence the southern part of Mindanao.
Regions such as Cagayan, Isabela, and Aurora are expected to have cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the shearline.
In the Davao Region, residents may experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms caused by the ITCZ.
Meanwhile, the Cordillera Administrative Region and the rest of Cagayan Valley are forecasted to have cloudy skies with light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon.
The Ilocos Region and Central Luzon will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains, also influenced by the Northeast Monsoon.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to easterlies.
