The low pressure area (LPA) inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has a high chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours, the PAGASA said.
As of 5:00 PM on Monday, June 29, LPA 06d was located at 165 km east northeast of Borongan City, Eastern Samar.
According to PAGASA Weather Specialist Charmagne Varilla, once the LPA develops into a tropical depression, Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 may be hoisted in the Bicol Region, Quezon Province, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon.
As of writing, the state weather bureau noted that the LPA brings moderate to heavy rainshowers in Southern Luzon and Visayas. However, the southwest monsoon is felt in the western portion of Southern Luzon
Due to the effects of the LPA, scattered rains are expected on Tuesday, June 30, in portions of Metro Manila, CALABARZON, the Bicol Region, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon.
