The low pressure area (LPA) located east of Northeastern Mindanao is bringing cloudy skies and scattered rains over parts of the country, while the southwest monsoon or habagat continues to affect western Luzon, PAGASA said on Sunday.

In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA said the LPA was estimated at 3 a.m. to be 890 kilometers east of Northeastern Mindanao, at coordinates 10.0°N, 133.6°E.

PAGASA said the weather disturbance has a low chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.

Despite this, the LPA is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and the Davao Region. Residents in these areas were advised to remain alert for possible flash floods and landslides due to moderate to, at times, heavy rainfall.

Meanwhile, the habagat will continue to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over the Ilocos Region, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan. PAGASA likewise warned of possible flash floods and landslides in these areas during periods of moderate to heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country, meanwhile, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.
