Actress Lovi Poe is set to join Maisie Williams in the upcoming high-concept thriller film Ignition, marking another international project for the Filipino star.
The film will be directed by Emmy-nominated filmmaker James Erskine and is slated for introduction at the Cannes Film Festival this May, according to Poe.
Erskine described Ignition as a tense, character-driven story centered on a looming threat.
“‘Ignition’ follows a young woman unwittingly drawn into a terrifying terrorist plot — a story of paranoia, technology, and the courage to confront the truth,” he said via Variety.
“I wanted the audience to feel completely inside Sylvie’s experience as events unfold, capturing a sense of immediacy and psychological pressure that builds in real time. It creates the ideal platform for Maisie Williams’s extraordinary central performance.”
In an Instagram post, Poe shared her excitement over the project’s first look, teasing fans with a nod to Williams’ iconic role in the hit series Game of Thrones.
“So excited to finally share this film I’ve been working on. IGNITION’s first look is out now — being introduced at Cannes this May,” Poe wrote.
Ignition adds to Poe’s growing list of international collaborations. She previously appeared in the indie film Bad Man, alongside Seann William Scott and Johnny Simmons.
The actress is also set to star in the psychological horror film The Sacrifice with Timothy Granaderos and Enchong Dee.
