A 27-year-old American national has been arrested for allegedly operating a cybersex den that exploited women he met through online dating platforms. The victims were reportedly lured into performing sexual acts that were livestreamed and sold online, as reported by RH Edniel Parrosa.
Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) Director PBGen Wilson Asueta said the suspect, known as “Kanor,” used the promise of modeling jobs to entice his victims.
Once they were convinced, he allegedly detained them at a location in Nasugbu, Batangas, forcing them to participate in sexual acts for online viewers.
The operation came to light when one of the victims managed to escape, leading authorities to rescue seven other women from the den.
“Actually sa dating app nagsimula and then kapag nahulog ang loob, iimbitahan niya na mag-meet-up at bibigyan niya ng offer na trabaho na maging model. So, kahit na wala nang screening, no ahensiya man lang, hanggang sa mapa-oo ang ating mga kababaihan, ma-mindsetting,” Asueta said.
The arrest follows heightened PNP efforts to combat love and romance scams, especially during February’s “love month.” PNP Chief Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. recently ordered intensified training for officers, including artificial intelligence detection methods, to counter the rising threat of AI-driven romance scams.
Scam Watch Philippines’ CICC has warned that such schemes increasingly target individuals seeking relationships. Vulnerable groups include women interested in foreign or financially secure partners, men sensitive to rejection, and single parents—particularly during Valentine’s season.
