People often hear about others renting out rooms and vehicles—but some entrepreneurial minds over at Bagbag Cemetery in Quezon City have gotten creative and are now renting ladders.
Why ladders? To get to deceased loved ones interred in the apartment-type tombs of the cemetery—which, for some visitors, are at the fifth or even higher levels, reported RH 5 Val Gonzales.
It’s proven good business, as some ladder rentals have already earned owners over ₱500 since the eve of All Saints’ Day. At the same time, visitors have no trouble lighting candles for their dearly departed—a good deal on both sides.
The nearly seven-hectare cemetery, which houses mainly apartment-type tombs, began letting visitors at 6:00 a.m.
As of 1:00 p.m., around 10,000 have visited those who have been laid to rest in the cemetery.
From October 26 to 30, 40,000 visitors have already gone to the cemetery.
The Bagbag cemetery management estimates that the number of visitors this year will exceed the 253,000 who came from October 31 to November 2 last year.
