LIST: Rotational brownout continues as NGCP placed Luzon grid under red, yellow alerts
by Christhel Cuazon02 June 2021

Rotation brownouts will continue as the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) on Tuesday placed the Luzon grid on red and yellow alerts due to thinning power reserves.

In an advisory, NGCP said the yellow alert starts at 9:00 AM and will last until 10:00 AM. It will resume at 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and then at 10:00 PM to 12:00 midnight.

Meanwhile, the red alert starts at 10:00 AM and will last until 5 PM, after which it will resume at 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM.

The available capacity is at 11,408 megawatts while the peak demand is estimated at 11,593 megawatts.
