Several roads in Metro Manila were submerged in floodwaters early Tuesday, August 18, due to rainfall brought by the southwest monsoon or Habagat, according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
As of 5:40 a.m., the MMDA reported flooding in parts of Manila and Quezon City.
Manila
- España corner Jhocson — 8 inches; gutter-deep and passable to all types of vehicles (PATV).
- Abad Santos Avenue corner Yuseco Street — 8 inches; gutter-deep and PATV.
- Rizal Avenue corner Bambang Street — 8 inches; gutter-deep and PATV.
- Quirino Station walkway — 8 inches; gutter-deep and PATV.
Quezon City
- NS Amoranto, G. Araneta Avenue to Sto. Domingo Avenue — 19 inches; knee-deep; not passable to all types of vehicles (NPATV).
- EDSA North Avenue — 8 inches; gutter-deep; PATV.
- Commonwealth Technohub westbound — 8 inches; gutter-deep; PATV.
- Araneta, Maria Clara to Florentino — 26 inches; tire-deep; NPATV.
- Elliptical Road-Kalayaan — 8 inches; gutter-deep; PATV.
- Commonwealth-Central Avenue Gate 2, PSSC — 8 inches; gutter-deep; PATV.
- C-5 Katipunan Avenue service road northbound/southbound — 8 inches; gutter-deep; PATV.
- C-5 Katipunan Avenue-C.P. Garcia Avenue southbound — 8 inches; gutter-deep; PATV.
