Several priority measures of the Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) are expected to advance before the House of Representatives adjourns its sessions.

In a Wednesday report by RH 12 Milky Rigonan, the House said it aims to pass measures on transparency, child protection, and digital accountability in the remaining session days.

During a plenary session, lawmakers approved 36 bills on the third and final reading, while 29 measures are now in their second reading.

Among these are five LEDAC priority bills, including the proposed Digital Media Anti-False Information Act and the Right to Access Information Act, both of which are one step away from passage.

According to House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III, lawmakers are committed to maximizing the remaining session days before the sine die adjournment to pass priority measures.

Dy said the passage of the Right to Access Information Act is crucial in strengthening government transparency, public trust, and accountability in public service.

He added that transparency remains the government’s strongest weapon against corruption.
