State seismologists have observed lava effusion with collapse-fed pyroclastic density currents (PDCs) at Mayon Volcano Sunday night.

The volcanic event occurred from 7:52 p.m. to 8:25 p.m. on July 19, captured by the Mayon Volcano Observatory, said the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).

Incandescent lava flows, pyroclastic density currents or “uson,” and rockfalls were recorded during the event.

This marks the 195th consecutive day of activity.

Mt. Mayon remains under Alert Level 3. The agency advised that entry into the 6-kilometer Permanent Danger Zone remain prohibited.
