

The Las Piñas General Hospital and Satellite Trauma Center recorded two cases of firework ingestion during the Christmas season.
Meanwhile, based on hospital data from December 16 to 31, a total of 86 road crash victims were treated at the facility. The highest number of road crash cases was recorded on Christmas Eve with 14 patients, followed by Christmas Day with 13 injured individuals.
RH Jecelle Ricafort reported that 18 patients sustained injuries from firework-related incidents during the same period. Of these, 13 cases were recorded during the New Year’s Eve celebration.
On the other hand, no victims of stray bullets were recorded at the Las Piñas General Hospital during the said period.
In addition, patients suffering from non-communicable diseases reached a total of 101 from December 16 to December 31.
Meanwhile, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) estimated that noise from firecrackers and fireworks across the region lasted for more than 20 to 30 minutes during the holiday celebrations.
