A landslide was reported in Purok 2 and Purok 3 of Barangay Anunas, Angeles City, on Friday, August 28, amid persistent rains brought by the southwest monsoon, or habagat.

According to the Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ACDRRMO), Punong Barangay Agosto Flores reported the incident, prompting the immediate deployment of a response team to the affected area.

The team was sent to conduct an on-site assessment, verify safety conditions, and coordinate necessary response measures.

Evacuation operations were also initiated following the incident. The affected families were safely relocated temporarily to the Barangay Anunas Covered Court and Anunas Elementary School.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation as rains persist in the area and are assessing potential risks to nearby communities.

Residents in landslide-prone areas are urged to remain vigilant, follow advisories from local authorities, and avoid areas that may pose safety risks as the southwest monsoon continues to bring heavy rainfall.
