A landslide has temporarily closed a section of the Mauban-Tayabas National Road in Brgy. San Isidro, Mauban, Quezon Province due to continuous heavy rains caused by the northeast monsoon.

According to the Mauban Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), rocks, soil, and fallen trees from higher ground blocked the road on Wednesday night, December 17, making it unsafe for vehicles.

Authorities immediately began clearing operations through the municipal engineering office, but as of Thursday morning, the road remains impassable. MDRRMO advised motorists that the two affected lanes will remain closed until further notice.
