As chair of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee, Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson said he will stand by the panel’s recommendation to file cases against fellow senators linked to the allegedly anomalous flood control projects.

In a Wednesday report by RH 28 Raymund Dadpaas, Lacson said the committee’s recommendation is consistent with developments in other investigating agencies.

He noted that if the committee’s findings differ from the results of other investigations, it would pose a problem, adding that some individuals involved already have warrants of arrest.

Lacson acknowledged that his staff helped prepare the report to guide former Ombudsman for Luzon Gerard Mosquera but said he takes full responsibility for its contents.

He also said that without 11 signatures, the partial committee report cannot be submitted to the Senate plenary and will remain in draft form.

As of Tuesday, the report had received six signatures, but Senators Juan Miguel Zubiri, JV Ejercito, and Sherwin Gatchalian later withdrew their signatures.

Lacson said he understands their decision, noting that the situation is complicated.
