Senator Panfilo "Ping" Lacson on Friday said the investigation into the alleged ghost infrastructure projects in Taguig City has gained significant ground, citing the identification of additional alleged bagmen, more questionable projects, and what he described as growing evidence against Senator Alan Peter Cayetano.

In a post on X, Lacson summarized the latest developments in the probe, writing: "Ang daming damning (evidence). The plot thickens. The list lengthens. The case strengthens. Kung merong 'shoot sa balde,' meron ding SHOOT SA KALDERO."

Lacson said the investigation has uncovered more potential witnesses and individuals allegedly involved in the questioned projects, indicating that the alleged anomalies may extend beyond a single person.

The senator also revealed that investigators identified additional slope protection projects worth ₱100 million each, bringing the total value of the infrastructure projects under scrutiny to ₱3.38 billion.

According to Lacson, two of the projects were found to have the same location and project description, raising suspicions that one of them could be a ghost project. He added that investigators also discovered allegedly defective projects with overlapping scopes, which may have created opportunities for kickbacks.

Lacson said he is considering filing the evidence directly with the Office of the Ombudsman instead of seeking a Senate inquiry if the evidence is deemed sufficient, saying the move could help expedite the investigation.

While the senator acknowledged that his team is currently focusing on projects in Taguig following criticisms from Cayetano, he stressed that the probe is part of a broader review of allegedly questionable infrastructure projects in different parts of the country.
