Senate President Pro Tempore Panfilo “Ping” Lacson on Wednesday expressed dissatisfaction with the executions of the Senate’s and House’s duties.
“Weird times in the history of the Philippine Congress. If it were a bicameral conference, the father is the Senate version and the son is the House version,” he said in a post on X.
The senator said, however, that both the upper and lower chambers of Congress have failed to follow their own rules and traditions.
“Problem is, the father cannot reconcile with the Senate rules and the son cannot reconcile with the House rules,” he concluded.
This comes amid impeachment proceedings in the House of Representatives of the Philippines concerning complaints against Vice President Sara Duterte, and preparations in the Senate of the Philippines for a potential trial.
