A new chapter begins for veteran playmaker LA Tenorio as he takes on a fresh challenge in his basketball journey—this time, as the newly appointed head coach of the Magnolia Hotshots in the PBA.
The appointment was confirmed by San Miguel Sports Director Alfrancis Chua on Monday night during the Gilas Pilipinas–Macau Black Bears friendly match at the Araneta Coliseum.
Tenorio replaces long-time head coach Chito Victolero.

While this marks Tenorio’s first stint as a PBA head coach, he is no stranger to leadership roles, having previously served as coach of the Gilas Pilipinas Boys squad.
Though the team is not expecting an immediate championship, Magnolia management is confident that Tenorio can contribute significantly to the team's rebuilding efforts.
The Hotshots have not won a title since 2018.
Tenorio enters this new role after an illustrious run with Barangay Ginebra, where he won seven of his eight PBA championships and earned most of his Finals MVP awards and other individual accolades.
