Singer Kris Lawrence has officially confirmed that he is courting actress Katrina Halili, signaling a new chapter in the relationship of the former couple more than a decade after their separation.
The development was announced during the television program of veteran host Boy Abunda on Wednesday.
The topic emerged following Katrina’s recent recognition as Best Actress for her performance in "Mommy Dearest" at the 10th World Excellence Japan Awards. During the program, Halili expressed gratitude to the people who have supported her, including Kris and their daughter, Katie.
As the discussion continued, Abunda appeared to confirm the status of their relationship.
“Dapat 'pag medyo meron nang linaw ang balita eh kayo'y dumalaw sa amin dito,” Abunda said, addressing both Katrina and Kris.
The announcement comes amid growing public interest after the two were seen spending time together in recent months, including family outings with their children and a trip to El Nido, Palawan.
Earlier this year, Lawrence also revealed in a vlog that he would be open to rekindling a romance with Halili if both of them remained single and circumstances aligned in the future.
Kris and Katrina share a daughter, Katie, who was born in 2012. The couple separated in 2014 but have since worked to maintain an amicable relationship centered on co-parenting their child.
In recent years, both have spoken publicly about rebuilding their friendship and fostering a healthy co-parenting dynamic. The confirmation of Lawrence’s courtship marks the latest development in their evolving relationship, drawing support from fans who have followed their journey as parents and longtime friends.
While neither has disclosed further details about their future plans, the announcement has fueled speculation that the former couple may be exploring the possibility of rekindling their romance.
