Queen of All Media Kris Aquino said her son, Bimby Aquino Yap, has begun expressing interest in a girl he considers “special”.
In a candid message on her son's 19th birthday, Aquino said she never expected to feel excited about this milestone, noting that her “bunso” has told her he already sees someone in a meaningful way.
“I never thought I’d be excited for the day when Bimb really likes a girl,” she said, adding that her son described the girl as “special.”
Aquino even expressed a hopeful birthday wish, saying she prays the relationship could blossom into Bimby’s first girlfriend—and possibly, in the future, his lifelong partner. She jokingly added that she would feel “very blessed” to one day welcome her as a daughter-in-law in about 7 to 9 years, if it aligns with God’s will.
The actress also shared how she has been trying to express kindness toward the girl through gestures such as sending flowers, balloons, food, chocolates, and even matching couple hoodies. However, Bimby reportedly stopped her from going overboard.
According to Aquino, Bimby reacted by telling her to “chill,” explaining that too many gifts might overwhelm the girl and make it obvious they came from her rather than from him.
“Please let it flow,” she recalled her son saying.
Aquino also reflected on Bimby’s sacrifices in caring for her amid her health condition, but noted that he should now be allowed to enjoy his youth and freely choose his own career path.
“Bimb has sacrificed so much to take care of me, but he doesn’t have to anymore. The best gift i can give him is to let him enjoy his youth, and let him choose his own career path. My deal with him is he just has to give his 100%.”
Aquino also gave an update on her medical treatment, saying she is undergoing another cycle of Rituxan, a strong immunosuppressant therapy, and has seen encouraging results.
She noted she is coordinating with a team connected to her godson, actor Dingdong Dantes, adding that extra precautions are being taken due to her condition.
“As for me, I have 1 more infusion session of Rituxan. This is already my second cycle- it’s a very strong immunosuppressant but I’ve gotten encouraging results.”
She said a scheduled presentation tied to her planned return to work was postponed at her request, as she chose to spend time with her son and family.
Aquino has been largely out of the public eye in recent years while undergoing treatment for multiple autoimmune conditions.
