Veronica “Kitty” Duterte shared a message of support for her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, following his first in-person appearance before the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague on Wednesday, Sept. 16.
Kitty posted a photo of her father on Instagram after he appeared before ICC Trial Chamber III during the third status conference in his crimes against humanity case.
“Conviction, volition and the state of equanimity in any affliction,” Kitty wrote.
“Loud and proud, through and through -- and forever and always the most unapologetic about you,” she added.
She also shared an Instagram Story with the caption, “Through and through, da.”
The appearance marked the first time Duterte personally attended an ICC proceeding since he was arrested in Manila in March 2025 and subsequently surrendered to the tribunal’s custody in The Hague. He had previously appeared before the ICC through video conferencing.
Duterte appeared before Trial Chamber III for the third status conference, where matters related to the preparation and scheduling of his trial were discussed.
His trial is scheduled to begin on November 30, 2026.
The former president remains detained at the ICC Detention Centre in Scheveningen, The Hague, while facing three counts of crimes against humanity over alleged killings linked to his anti-drug campaign and other operations during his time as Davao City mayor and president.
