Kim Chiu on Tuesday filed a legal case against her sister, Lakambini Chiu, over alleged qualified theft after uncovering “serious financial discrepancies” in her business’ operations.
“Unfortunately, substantial amounts connected to my business assets were found missing. These discoveries forced me to take formal action to protect not just my company, but also the livelihoods of the people who work with me and the integrity of everything I have built,” the actress and model said in a statement.
The star’s talent label, Star Magic, announced earlier that Kim had gone to the Justice Cecilia Muñoz Palma Hall, DOJ Building, in Quezon City to file the case, accompanied by her lawyers.
Kim said the decision to sue her sister proved a “difficult” and “painful” one.
“Despite this painful situation, I remain committed to my work, my supporters, and the continued growth of my business ventures. I also continue to pray for healing and resolution for everyone involved,” she said.
