After a seven-year run, Kelly Clarkson’s daytime program, “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” will end after its current season.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, February 3, the “Since You’ve Been Gone” singer released a statement, thanking the team behind her daytime show, both in Los Angeles and New York.
“I am forever grateful and honored to have worked alongside the greatest talent and inspiring people who have shared their time and lives with us, all the fans who have supported our show, and to NBC for always being such a supportive and incredible partner,” Clarkson wrote.
Although the singer-host emphasized that it was not an easy decision to make, she confirmed that the current season will be her last.
“Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives,” she stated. “This isn’t goodbye. I’ll still be making music, playing shows here and there, and you may catch me on The Voice from time to time…you never know where I might show up next.”
Clarkson has two children, River, her 11-year-old daughter, and Remington, her nine-year-old son. Meanwhile, her former husband, Brandon Blackstock, died of melanoma six months ago.
Following the announcement, messages of support flooded the “Because of You” singer.
Julia Michaels wrote, “Love youuuuuuuuu will miss hearing your voice pop up on my feed all the time.”
Actress Kerry Washington wrote, “You’re amazing Kelly! Sending you so much love and gratitude.”
